plagcheck.ai is operated by ogDahl ApS, company reg. (CVR) 36943157, Langhøjvej 1, 8381 Tilst, Denmark. By using the service you accept these terms.
What the service is
plagcheck.ai compares text against sources on the internet and produces a report of where they overlap. The first check per visitor per day is free. There is currently no paid access; if it opens, separate terms will apply and will be put to you before you commit to anything.
What a result means — and does not mean
A plagcheck.ai report is a finding, not a verdict. It is not proof of plagiarism, and it cannot stand alone as grounds for sanctioning anyone.
Specifically, be aware of the following:
- We do not find everything. We select a number of passages from the document and search for those. Copied material in the sections we do not sample will not be found. A clean report is not proof of originality.
- We can find things that are not plagiarism. Set phrases, legal text, definitions and properly marked quotations can match without anything being wrong.
- We only search what is publicly available. Closed archives, printed books and other students' unpublished work are not in our search.
- The AI-generated assessment is a probability estimate. It errs in both directions, and studies have shown that text written by people who are not writing in their first language is flagged more often. Never use it alone as grounds for an accusation.
- If a search provider goes down, a result may rest on fewer sources than usual. When that happens it appears in the response's
degradedfield and as a warning in the report.
You are responsible for the decisions you make on the basis of a report.
What we expect from you
- That you have the right to upload the document you upload — either because you wrote it, or because you are permitted to process it.
- That you do not upload material you may not share with third parties. The analysis sends excerpts to sub-processors outside the EU; this is described in the privacy policy.
- That you do not attempt to circumvent the free-use limit, overload the service, or scrape content automatically.
- That you do not use the service to harass anyone.
Availability
The service is provided as is and as available. We give no uptime guarantee. We are a small company and may take the service down for maintenance, change it, or discontinue it, without notice and without liability.
Liability
We are not liable for indirect loss, consequential damages, lost profit or loss of data arising from use of the service. As the service is currently free, our total liability is in any event limited to the amount you have paid — which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under Danish law, including liability for gross negligence and intentional acts.
Rights to your content
You keep all rights to what you upload. We acquire no rights to your material beyond what is necessary to perform the analysis you asked for, and we do not store the document.
Changes
We may change these terms. Material changes are marked with a new date at the top.
Governing law and venue
Danish law applies. Disputes are settled by the Danish courts. If you are a consumer, you may always bring proceedings at your own place of residence, and you can complain through the EU ODR platform.
